- Application For a partial broadcast, you can apply the flake system at a rate ranging from 20 sq./ft. to 200 sq./ft. of floor coating per pound of flakes. However, for a full broadcast to refusal, significantly more flakes are needed, at 10 sq./ft. per pound. Full broadcast entails applying flakes so densely that the coating cannot absorb any more, resulting in them resting on the surface.
